Item: Solid Oak Mission Style Slant Front Secretary Desk.

Age: Circa 1920.

Details: Simple vertical and horizontal lines.
Nice wood joinery.
Slant Front opens to reveal a desk surface supported by hinges.
Drawer bottom has been replaced.

Condition: Very good condition, the main drawer bottom has been replaced.

Size: 32″ wide x 18″ deep x 40″ tall.

Description

Very simple and pretty mission style slant front secretary desk from circa 1920. This desk is made of solid oak and has tell tale mission stylistic features: block-like styling, mission joinery with pegs and legs extending out from the piece, and simple, very subtly curved apron and bottom shelf. The slant front extends to allow a nice writing surface that is supported by the bracket hinge.

This piece allows the wood grain to be the most prominent feature. Beautiful oak grain has aged naturally.
