Antique Buffet

Antique Buffet

This beautiful mahogany inlaid antique buffet dates to about circa 1910 and has several gorgeous cathedral-like sections of flamed mahogany and beautiful inlay work. Indeed this antique inlaid buffet was made by Meekins, Packard and Wheat out of Springfield, Massachusetts and has the original label on the back to attest to this Federal sideboard.

Federal Sideboard

Very Federal Sideboard has style. The circa 1910 Federal Sideboard has very straight lines and strong geometry. There are three drawers along the top of the antique sideboard which divide the sideboard horizontally, and three graduated drawers on each side. A slight bow in the cabinet section provides the only real curve on the piece. An elegant back-splash punctuated by four short columns crowns the top. The classical proportions of this antique buffet speak to an elegance and appreciation for simplicity. A restraint that sparked in a time in between Victorian exuberance and deco ornamentation. A beautiful turn of the century antique piece of American furniture.
