Very nice five section solid oak barrister bookcase made by Cincinnati company, Globe Wernicke. This name has become synonymous for this type of stack-able, configurable bookcases in mahogany or oak in the early 1900s to 1930s. They have become highly collectible and valued both for their beauty and utility. Each has a unique patented sliding glass door that lifts, tilts and tucks away in the top of each section.
This five stack bookcase has the original base, metal banding, and Globe Wernicke stickers in each one. This is a typical “set” with a taller case and four of the same size. It is in original finish and has character standard for age. We have sold many sets of barristers for offices, libraries, or to display collections.
