Description

Antique Dresser

Beautiful and unique antique dresser from the early 19th century. This lovely antique dresser has so many beautiful details.

Empire Furniture

The dresser has many attributes that make it a beautiful example of Empire Furniture. Of course, the Empire period dates from about 1820 to about 1860.

Firstly, the dresser features half turned columns flanking the drawers. Secondly, it has a large top drawer and smaller recessed drawers underneath. Finally, it has beautiful glass knobs.

Tiger Maple Wood

Additionally, this dresser has a special mix of rare woods which makes it particularly rare, beautiful and costly. The dresser features both deep dark mahogany and bright tiger maple wood veneers. Of course, these special woods attest to the fact that the early 19th century craftsperson aimed to make a statement.

We refinished this chest of drawers. However, there are some small flaws. Firstly, there is a small ding to the back of the top of the chest. Also, there are small areas of surface wear to the dresser, such as light divots. Finally, there is a chip to the inside of the top drawer. Please see photos.
