Age & Condition: Circa 1990. Small chip on the bedrail. Minor signs of age and use.

Dimensions: 63″ wide x 91″ long x 41″ tall (footboard is 36.5″ tall).
Metal bed brackets sit 8″ off the floor.

Beautiful vintage bed in mahogany wood. This nice Queen Size bed by Baker Furniture has a simple yet elegant design and shows good quality.

Vintage Bed

Certainly, this vintage bed has a refined and elegant style. The sleigh bed features a thick headboard and footboard with gentle curve. Additionally, there are four brass rosettes on each corner of the bed.

Finally, the bed has a good structural system, with side rails that fit tightly into the headboard and footboard. These rails have metal “L-brackets” to provide a frame for the boxspring. Also the bed has a center rail with vertical support for additional framing.

Baker Furniture

While known for their quality construction methods, Baker Furniture is firstly known as a suberb design company. The company collaborated with so many high end designers to bring stylish pieces to market over the decades. At the same time, the company’s association with several historic foundations also made Baker products a timeless design choice for high end and historic homes.

This Neoclassical style bed has many features of traditional early 19th century design. The gentle curve of the headboard and footboard, as well as the subtle grain pattern from the mahogany, echo Federal and Empire furniture pieces.

Overall, the bed shows good condition. However there are a few small flaws. There is a chip on one side rail. Additionally, there are minor signs of age and use to the footboard and headboard. That said, the bed still looks lovely and would be a very nice addition to any primary or guest bedroom.
