Antique Chest of Drawers
This lovely antique chest of drawers features a two piece design. Of course, this made moving and setting the very tall chest up stairs a lot easier.
Of course, the chest features lovely mahogany grain across the drawers. Also, it has the original brasses. Although we did have to replace some of the posts and nuts on the inside of the drawers. Also, the chest features a deep crown and dental molding.
The chest has tall feet which appear to be original, although they may have been repaired over the years. Likely the chest of drawers dates to the latter end of the 18th century, or circa 1790.
Henry Kettle Chest of Drawers
Inside the tall chest is a taped label showing the origin of this chest of drawers. The maker, Henry Kettle was a cabinet maker and undertaker in London. From our research, he was in business from the late 1700s (1771-1790s). In 1774 he took over the business of Philip Bell at 23 St Paul’s Churchyard and thereafter appears to have centred his business at this address.

Mahogany Tall Chest
A stately mahogany tall chest can find a beautiful home in a bedroom, living room or foyer. This chest has been refinished and has a really beautiful rich color and finish.
As mentioned, there have been some small repairs over the years. Including some new posts for the hardware, and possibly a leg repair. Despite these subtle fixes, the chest has a beautiful look and shows wonderfully for its age.
