This nice antique Empire Chest has a beautiful two over four design. Of course, the top two drawers are great for smaller items, and give the chest an elegant and regal look.
The Empire chest has two stately curved scroll work elements on either side of the drawer, crafted of beautiful tiger maple wood.
Finally, the antique dresser has really pretty brass knobs.
Tiger Maple and Mahogany Chest
Certainly, the mix of tiger maple and mahogany wood give the chest a beautiful and eye-catching design. Each wood species is beautifully off-set with the other. And the resulting two-tone look makes it equally elegant as a statement piece in a hallway or dining room, or as a antique dresser in a bedroom.
We refinished the chest of drawers and replaced the unfortunately broken hardware. The dresser functions well and shows very well. It has a few small patches to a couple drawers that add a little character.
