Antique Mantel Clock
Beautiful cast iron antique mantel clock by Ansonia Clock Company from the turn of the 20th century. This lovely antique mantel clock has a Greek temple shape that is offset with a feminine metal decal of a bow. The Ansonia clock has lovely three dimensional columns that flank either side. It has a metal face.
Ansonia Clock
The Ansonia Clock Company produced thousands of models of mantel clocks. Indeed, Ansonia Clock company often made “figural clocks” and mantel clocks. Starting in Connecticut, Ansonia moved their factories later to New York. Indeed, Victorian era clock companies like Ansonia prospered during this period.
Unlike other mantel clocks we have, this Ansonia Clock case features cast iron, rather than wood. This makes this antique clock quite heavy and sturdy.
This clock movement has been cleaned, oiled and restored. It will keep time for 7-8 days. The bell chimes on the half hour and strikes and counts on the hours.
