Antique Federal Style Sideboard
This early 1930 period sideboard has beautiful detail and design. Of course, the craftspeople from Annesly Furniture Company demonstrated a sophisticated understanding of period Federal furniture. The sideboard features inlaid legs, crossbanded mahogany and lovely fan shaped motifs in the corners of the droors and drawers.
Additionally, this sideboard has a particularly beautiful mirrored backsplash, supported in front with two turned mahogany columns. This also creates another small shelf for display above the sideboard.
Annesly Furniture Co Buffet with Mirror
The Annesly Furniture Company was opened in the late 1800s in the Albany, New York region. The company was known for producing fine furniture, looking glasses and artist supplies. They were often known as the “Albany Art Gallery.”
Sadly, the family company closed in 1940. However, the quality and impeccable designs of this small company live on in some of their surviving pieces.
We refinished this sideboard in order to restore the beauty of its inlay. There are a few small flaws. Please see photos.
