Description

Beautiful, bold and striking Chinoiserie Breakfront cabinet. This large china cabinet has a really eye-catching design and shows good quality.

Chinoiserie Breakfront

This two piece Chinoiserie Breakfront has a painted finish with so much detail. Each of the drawers and doors is decorated with amazing hand-painted details, done in a Chinoiserie style. The garden and bird scenes feature shades of gold, which really adds a lovely contrast to the rich black finish.

Additionally, it has plenty of room for display in its lighted top with four glass doors. Each of the doors has a really pretty Chippendale style mullion pattern. Inside, you will find thick polished glass shelves with plate rail. Of course, it also features top down lighting.

In the base of the cabinet, you will find a series of drawers and two cabinet doors for storage or linens, plates and large serving pieces.

At the top of the crown, the dental molding is enhanced with pagoda shaped trim, also highlighted in gold.

Hickory Chair Furniture

Certainly, Hickory Chair furniture is known for its amazing quality and beautiful 18th century reproductions. This North Carolina Company specialized in some incredible adaptations and faithful reproductions of Chippendale, Sheraton and Hepplewhite designs.

This cabinet is marked “James River Collection.” This historically inspired collection typically features rich Federal period designs. As Chinese Chippendale and Chinoiserie designs were en vogue in the 18th centuries, this cabinet certainly could fit right in any traditional or historic home.

The cabinet has a few signs of wear along the base. Also the left door of the cabinet shows a tiny bit of warping and doesn’t sit perfectly flush with the cabinet. Please see photos.
