Incredible antique hall tree in solid oak wood. The carvings and design of this beautiful hall tree are absolutely outstanding!
Grand Antique Hall Tree
This beautiful grand Antique hall tree has a massive scale and design. It has a suspended beveled mirror that is held in place with both wooden supports and metal chains. Also, it has a beautiful carved bench with intricately carved back. Finally, the carved oak hall tree features six ornate brass hooks.
Each part of this carved oak hall tree has lovely carvings done in a Renaissance revival style. There are arabesques and swirls, intricate plant-like carvings and creatures throughout the hall tree. On top, there is even what resembles a North Wind type carving, with a set of pursed lips and puffy cheeks.
In addition, the hall tree features lots of delicately carved turnings, on the arms top and sides of the piece. All of these tightly carved turned pieces speak to the expertise of the carver, as it is not easy to finely turn oak wood in this manner.
Carved Oak Hall Tree with Bench Seat
Of course, this unique hall tree is very practical also because it has an attached bench seat with storage. Even the top of the bench has an incised design, again adding to the charm and beauty of the hall tree.
We refinished this oak hall tree in order to restore the lovely oak wood. It shows very well for its age. That said, there are some signs of age and silvering to the mirror. Also, there is some patina to the hooks.
