Vintage Canopy Bed
This nice vintage canopy bed is made of solid mahogany wood. The bedframe features a simple headboard with tall posts. Each of the posts is tapered gently at the top and has a square base. Of course, the canopy, which comes apart in four simple pieces, rests on verticle metal inserts on the top of each post.
The headboard has a simple, elegant design. Each of the side rails bolts into the headboard and footboard and features sturdy metal “L-brackets” which support the boxspring and mattress. We will include the tool that makes tightening the bolts more simple.
Biggs Furniture
Certainly, the name Biggs Furniture is pretty well known as an incredible cabinetmaker of yesteryear. Before the company was purchased by Kittinger Furniture, Biggs had a wonderful reputation for Colonial era reproductions and fine woodworking.
We refinished this Bed in order to restore the lovely mahogany wood. It shows well and is in good shape.
