Vintage Shield Back Chairs
Of course, these vintage Shield Back chairs have a style echoing back to Hepplewhite and Neoclassical designs. The shield back chair had a revival in the 1940s and 50s as well, and I believe that was when these were made.
The chairs feature an elegant carved shield back, with a wheat motif in the center. Also, the two arm chairs have a lovely swoop to the arms. Finally, the chairs feature tapered legs and an upholstered seat. The upholstery fabric features a gold and pale red design.
Dining Chairs
Certainly, these nice dining chairs could work around an oval, rectangular or even circular dining table. The reddish finish of the mahogany would go nicely with any cherry or mahogany table.
The chairs show well and the upholstery is in good shape. They may have light rubs here and there. Also, one small wood plug on the back of an arm chair is missing.
