Nice vintage dining table and chairs in solid cherry wood. This beautiful dining set has a great look and shows excellent quality.
Vintage Dining Table and Chairs
Of course, the set includes a table, four leaves and six chairs (two arm chairs). Additionally, the table has a unique design that allows you to store the leaves inside the table.
Also, the table has five legs. The center leg certainly comes in table when it is extended.
The chairs have a nice Mission style design, with vertical slats and wooden seats.
Blue Mountain Woodcraft
The company that produced the set hails from Shippensburg, PA. They make quality hardwood furniture in cherry, maple and oak woods.
This set shows very good condition. It has a few minor imperfections on the table top and a few scratches to the leaves. However, we did not feel the need to refinish it.
Vintage dining sets crafted by Amish furniture makers, such as Blue Mountain Woodcraft, are often highly valued for their craftsmanship, quality materials, and timeless designs. When assessing the worth of a vintage dining table and chairs set from Blue Mountain Woodcraft, consider the following factors:
- Brand and Maker: Blue Mountain Woodcraft is renowned for its high-quality, handcrafted furniture. Items bearing this brand may command higher prices due to its reputation for superior craftsmanship.
- Material: Evaluate the materials used in the construction of the dining table and chairs. Amish furniture makers typically use solid hardwoods such as oak, cherry, maple, or walnut. Solid wood construction is valued for its durability and longevity.
- Style and Design: Assess the style and design of the dining set. Vintage Amish-made furniture often features classic, traditional designs that can complement a variety of decor styles. Look for details such as hand-carved accents, turned legs, or intricate joinery.
- Condition: The condition of the dining table and chairs is crucial in determining their value. Look for any signs of wear, damage, or repairs. Vintage pieces in excellent condition, with minimal wear and well-maintained finishes, will generally be more valuable.
- Completeness: A complete dining set, including the table and matching chairs, may be more desirable to buyers and collectors. Matching sets are often sought after for dining rooms or kitchen areas.
- Age: Older vintage pieces, especially those from specific eras or collections, may be considered more collectible. Blue Mountain Woodcraft pieces from certain periods or designs may carry added value.
- Provenance: Any documented history or provenance associated with the dining set, such as being part of a notable collection or owned by a prominent figure, can increase its value.
- Market Demand: The current demand for vintage Amish-made furniture, particularly dining sets from Blue Mountain Woodcraft, can influence their market value. Research recent sales of similar items to gauge market trends and pricing.
- Local Market: Local factors such as regional preferences and availability can also affect the value of the dining set. Consider consulting with local antique dealers or furniture experts for insights specific to your area.
